A substantial Georgian country house, it has been beautifully reimagined into an exquisite holiday retreat, somewhere from which extended family and groups of friends can enjoy all that Northumberland has to offer. Honeystone House represents all that’s good about contemporary country house living. From the moment you step into the soaring, light-filled entrance hall, you feel the warmth and spirit of home.
Despite its generous proportions, Honeystone House exudes a warm, intimate atmosphere, blending timeless character with contemporary comfort and chic interior design. Communal living areas are filled with original architectural features such as stone floors, intricate plasterwork and flooded with natural light through 12-pane sash windows with carefully restored wooden shutters.
Bedrooms have their own distinct character and individual charm, decorated with pared-back restful palettes, luxuriously dressed in natural materials, and thoughtfully curated objects collected throughout its history. The House is overflowing with charm and personality, with a mix of inviting spaces, convivial social hubs and intimate corners. It’s all here, and it’s waiting for you.

Furnished with comfortable armchairs and a wood-burning stove, it introduces you to a world of timeless traditions that coax you to unwind.
As it has done in country houses throughout history, the drawing room plays a pivotal role at Honeystone House. Generously proportioned with parquet flooring and rug, the drawing room is filled with natural light through large bay windows and warmth that lends itself to total elegant relaxation. Comfy sofas and armchairs, the kind you can sink into, surround a large open fire and large mirror television while hand-picked pieces of art decorate the walls and surfaces.
Whether you’re cooking up a treat in the kitchen, leaving it to caterers or having a takeaway, Honeystone House’s splendid dining room is the perfect backdrop for an intimate evening or a celebratory dinner party. With a long elegant table that seats up to 12 guests and is surrounded by the warmth of an open fire and an eclectic mix of antiques, curios and artwork, the room encapsulates the history and tradition of country house dining.
To keep you fed and watered during your stay, Honeystone House has a large, open-plan light-filled country kitchen filled with everything you could need to satisfy the appetites of a large group. It is extensively equipped with an Aga, electric oven, fridge-freezer, two dishwashers, larder fridge, microwave., pantry and every pot and pan imaginable. There is also a table and chairs, which serves as a morning coffee hangout or an informal dining space.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
After a day in the fresh Northumberland air, you can retreat to one of the five individually-styled and beautifully-appointed double bedrooms, five with ensuite bathrooms. Each room is decorated with pared-back restful palettes and vivid Thibault wallpaper, and adorned with exclusive William Yeoward fabrics to provide a sense of timeless comfort and indulgence. Complete with comfortable mattresses and soft linen, a sound night’s sleep is a given before the next day’s adventures.
Aside from the main rooms, there are nooks and crannies to explore throughout Honeystone House. The Garden Room is a hidden gem, offering guests a sun-filled retreat with a table, seating for four and dual-aspect views of the gardens. The Boot Room is an essential part of any country house with bench seating and pegs rail for all those muddy boots and damp coats. There is also a large Utility Room complete with sink, large fridge, chest freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. If you’re looking to escape for a while, The Study is tucked away with a writing desk and chair. There is also a downstairs Cloakroom, complete with WC and sink. And for keen anglers that want to bring their own tackle, we have a Rod Room located at the rear of the house.
Honeystone House is set within 10 acres of private and beautiful mature gardens, with large landscaped lawns to the front and side of the House and mature woodland to the rear. Guests are welcome to explore the wider estate. Ample parking is available for guests on the gravelled access courtyard.
