Northumberland’s sparkling rivers, streams and coast are home to some of the country’s best game, river, coarse and sea fishing. From salmon and trout in the River Tweed and River Tyne, to dace, perch, gudgeon, roach, chubb and pike in the lower reaches of the River Coquet, Alt, Wansbeck and Till. Larger reservoirs such as Kielder and Derwent allow anglers to bait, spin or fly fish, while smaller still waters at Chatton, Thrunton Long Crag, Caistron, South Linden, Higham Lakes, Sweethope Loughs, and Langley Dam, all offer excellent fishing for the novice.
